Oundle is one of England’s leading academic, full boarding schools situated in an English market town 90 miles north of London(one hour by train). Its buildings, dating from the 17th to the 21st centuries, are dispersed throughout the town in an idyllic rural setting bordered by the River Nene. The School’s long and distinguished history started when it was endowed in 1556 by Sir William Laxton, Master of the Worshipful Company of Grocers and Lord Mayor of London.

Academic Profile
Oundle has a well earned reputation for academic, musical and sporting excellence. In 2014 and 2015,a quarter of all grades at A Level were A*,A*-B grades were 85% in 2014 with an increase to 87% in 2015.87% of GCSE grades were A*-A in 2014 and 85% in 2015.

Historically an average of twenty pupils gain places at Oxbridge each year,Twenty-seven places were offered in 2015 and thirty have been received in 2016.
Each pupil is a member of a boarding house and the house system is at the heart of life at Oundle. All meals are taken in the houses which fosters a strong sense of belonging. Oundle has thirteen senior boarding houses – eight for boys and five for girls. There is also a small Junior boarding house, The Berrystead, which houses the 40 boarders who enter at 11 or 12. All pupils are full boarders – there is no weekly boarding and exeats are very limited.

There are almost unlimited options for sport and extracurricular activities. Music is especially strong and the school is very proud of its Royal College of Music partnership which benefits pupils through master classes and workshops with Royal College of Music professors. Facilities include: 36 tennis courts, fully equipped dance studio, 10 rugby pitches, professional theatre, art gallery, astronomy observatory, radio station.

Special Features
Oundle is particularly renowned for its Science,Technology ,engineering and mathematics facilities, In Autumn2016 the redeveloped Sci Tec campus will open. bringing tne STEM subjects togrther under the roof.Developments such as Sci Tec are instrumental in the education of the scientists,engineers,entrepreneurs and innovators of the future.These new facilities will position Oundle at the heart of  applying science and will embrace developments in new fields such as nanotechnology and mechatronics.
A Level and GCSE Subjects 
GCSE: The core curriculum of Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics is supplemented by a Modern Language and a further 4 subjects.
A Level: Sixth Form pupils follow a curriculum that is designed to stimulate the mind and equip them to think. 28 subjects are offered and courses are structured around learning rather than assessment. This enables pupils to achieve the best possible examination results. The curriculum is sufficiently flexible to give all pupils the opportunity to excel.

Student Profile
Heidy Klang joined Oundle from Shenzhen, China. She gained 11 A*s in her GCSEs and 4A*s/As at A Level and Pre-U Level before going on to read mathematics at Exeter College ,Oxford in 2014, In addition to her academic achievements, Heidy is a keen and talented musician and was also the Girls’ Badminton Captain at Oundle. She said; “I fell in love with Oundle the first time I came here. It made my Oxford dream come true ."
