Detail

Founded in 1552, Shrewsbury School remains one of the great scholarly foundations of England. Set in the beautiful country of Shropshire, in over a hundred acres of grounds by the River Severn and overlooking the ancient town, Shrewsbury is a community of over 740 pupils aged between 13 and 18. Famous former pupils include Lord Hestletine, Michale Palin and Lord Rees, Astronomer Royal. In line with the work of its most famous old boy, Charles Darwin – the school has continued to evolve in an innovative and dynamic way based on foundations of traditional values.

Life at Shrewsbury is founded on close partnerships between staff, parents and pupils; promoting the strength of family life, fostering responsibilities, and balancing the claims of developing individuality with the needs of a vibrant community.
