Founded in 1895 by the visionary educationalist, Nathaniel Woodard, Worksop College is a thriving community set in over 300 acres of stunning grounds, in North Nottinghamshire, close to excellent road, rail and airport links.  The school has outstanding facilities and excellent academic, sporting, musical, art and extra-curricular opportunities.

Academic Profile
Worksop College offers outstanding academic opportunities to our students.  Small class sizes result in happy, successful students who attain excellent exam results with recent achievements bucking the national trend and set to improve year on year.  We are a non-selective school.
We provide an extensive academic enrichment programme with visiting University lecturers and selected students attend Nottingham University’s Gifted and Talented Programme.  We also offer aspirational University advice and have links with local businesses. In 2015 Worksop College achieved  a GCSE  A*-C pass rate of 87.9%. At A Level,more than 29% of all entries achieved an A*-A. In 2015 students secured  places at Cambridge University ,London School of Economics,Durham,Warwick and Manchester as well as many Russell Group Universities. We also have excellent EAL provision and full support for our overseas students.

Our small number of overseas boarders are integrated quickly into our community and all become part of one of our six boarding houses.  Two of the three boys’ and one of the two girls’ boarding houses are in the main building whilst a number of  girls and boys are housed in new separate boarding house.  Until the Sixth Form, pupils tend to live in small bedrooms with two or three other pupils;  in the Lower Sixth it is the norm to share with one other student and in the Upper Sixth most students have single study bedrooms.   There is 24 hour healthcare provision.  Meals are taken in the Great Hall and the choice and standard of catering is outstanding.

In 2015  Worksop College achieved an A*-C pass rate of 87.9% and 40% of all the  grades awarded were at the A* or A grade.

Sixth Form

Worksop College have Masterclass partnerships with many universities and in the first term of 2015 have welcomed lecturers from the top universities in the country including Liverpool,Bristol,Cambridge and UCL. Throughout the academic year the college invites universities from across the country to deliver presentations to its pupils on a wide range of thought -- provoking and stimulating subjects. 

 In addition to a master class programme with Nottingham and Sheffield universities, we also have dedicated Oxbridge master classes. Ten universities visit the School every week of the Autumn and Spring term to deliver a unique lecture series as part of a very extensive Academic Enrichment Programme.


Special Features
We offer our own in-house Guardianship Scheme, if required, with the benefit that we know all our Guardians personally.  We are also only one of three schools in the Country who have a full 18 hole golf course within the school grounds.  Our provision for Sport, Music and Art is excellent and our pastoral care outstanding with each student having a personal tutor who they meet with on a formal basis at least once a week, with the opportunity of informal regular meetings in between.  Above all Worksop College is a very happy school where we provide the opportunity for our students to prepare themselves fully for the world in which they will live and work in the future.
