Detail

Moor Park is one of the UK’s leading co-educational prep schools. Set in 85 acres of stunning Shropshire countryside, within a two hour radius of Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester airports, it is a perfect setting for children to live and learn. Founded in 1964 as a Catholic boys preparatory school, today although still Catholic in ethos, the school welcomes boys and girls of all faiths. Moor Park is known for its outstanding record of successfully preparing children for their first choice senior school and its strong pastoral care.
Outstanding results are achieved in the classroom, but also in sport, art and music.

Academic Profile
Moor Park successfully prepares children for Common Entrance or Scholarship to all the major senior schools in the UK. At least 35% of Moor Park children have won senior school scholarships each year for the past eight years. Classes are kept small with a teacher to pupil average of 1:7. Specialist subject teachers teach all children from Year 6 upwards. International pupils join mainstream classes for all their subjects and have additional EAL lessons if necessary.
Accommodation
Our overseas pupils are incredibly well looked after by our dedicated and highly professional team of boarding staff who ensure that the children are happy and well settled. Our youngest boarders start at 7 years of age in the Tree House, a purpose built eco-friendly building for Years 3 & 4 children. Very much a home from home, this allows the children to start boarding in a small and friendly environment. From Year 5, the children move into the main building, with a separate boys and girls floor. Our boarding houses are cosy with rooms to play in, and kitchens for late evening snacks. There is a full programme of activities both in the evenings and at weekends.
Facilities
The school has numerous well-equipped classrooms, two science labs, an enormous design and technology centre, an outstanding art room with a designated loft for potential art scholars, two computer rooms, a music school with practice rooms, and library. For sport and recreation there are six sports pitches, a floodlit Astroturf, swimming pool, large sports hall, floodlit tennis and netball courts, an assault course in the woods and a large school hall that turns into a theatre for drama and music productions. We also have acres of land and woods for the children to build dens and to play in during their free time.
