Q: What will re-opening look like for international pupils? 

问题：学校重开后，如何安排国际学生的学习生活？

A: We do not yet know, but please be assured that enabling our international boarders to return as soon as is possible is central to our planning. 

回答：目前对此尚无详细计划，但是复学计划的核心是保证国际学生能尽早回校上课。

Q: If the School re-opens in June for a short time before the summer holiday, are international pupils expected to return? 

问题：学校如果六月复课，国际学生是否应该返校

A: If we can open to boarders, both in line with Government guidelines and with our own protocols to ensure the health and safety of all our pupils, we would be delighted to see international pupils return. However, if, as is likely, it will only be for a short time, we feel that it would not be right to insist that they do. We will continue to provide remote learning for those pupils for whom it is more practical to remain at home during this period.

Q: What are the School’s contingency plans for ensuring health and safety across its community?

A: Back in the Lent Term, we took a series of measures to reduce the risk of infection as soon as news of COVID-19 emerged. Our main priority has always been the health, safety and welfare of pupils, staff and all those in our wider community. We are continuing to develop robust procedures and protocols and, with reference to the advice of Public Health England, we are currently considering all our options in protecting our community once School re-opens. Such options include regular monitoring of pupils and staff well-being, regular temperature checks, testing for COVID-19, quarantine measures and social distancing across the campus. Once we have a firm protocol in place following published Government direction on re-opening, we will share this.

Q: How is the School equipped to deal with a COVID-19 outbreak?

A: The protocols that were in place at the end of Lent Term before we went into lockdown proved both robust and measured. We would therefore follow these same protocols, with isolation beds available in each House if possible.

Q: What is the School’s approach to social distancing in Houses and around the School?

A: We will observe Government guidelines which are likely to limit the number of pupils in a class or a dorm. This in turn is likely to limit our ability to open to all pupils at the same time. Once we have official guidance from the Government, we will be in a position to apply the guidelines to Oundle and make any adjustments we deem necessary to ensure the safety of our community.

Q: What is the School’s policy on masks?

A: We follow the advice of Public Health England and will continue to do so. We are aware that there are different views on the efficacy or otherwise of wearing masks across the world. This is part of our protocol which we will finalise once clear guidelines are in place from the Government.

A: Exercise remains a central support to mental and physical health and has been fully integrated into our online teaching and learning model. Once we are back in School, we will aim to provide as many sporting options as possible within Public Health England guidelines and within our own health and safety protocols.

A: We very much look forward to welcoming you back to Oundle as visiting parents. Subject to any restrictions that may be placed upon us, you will be most warmly welcome.

Q: Will there be a visitor protocol once the School is open?

A: Our visitor protocol will be reviewed and will depend on Government guidance and any additional measures we believe to be prudent.

Q: Are there any circumstances in which the School will remain open during the October half term?

A: We are currently considering all options in this regard. Whilst in usual circumstances we would expect overseas pupils to go to their guardian if unable to return home or have no plans to do so, we fully appreciate that these are extraordinary times. We shall confirm our position on this in due course.

A: Just as was the case before Easter, we will enable pupils to return home as soon as is practicable.
